Throughout the course of time, the recipe was handed down unchanged from generation to generation. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic, the Hurleys of Boston, Massachusetts baked their Irish breads relying on memory of kitchen conversations dating back to the 1920s. Each family professed that their recipe was the best. Today, fate has allowed the marriage of these two unique recipes, resulting in Hurley's Boston Irish Breads. The result is a moist, mildly sweet, well balanced cake bread, with a sweet bread-like golden crust. Each irish bread is still handmade, one at a time, in its own cast iron skillet and are available in a variety of flavors.
